Packetworx launches the first IoT network in the Philippines
ORTIGAS CBD, PHILIPPINES MAY 21, 2018 - Packetworx, the leading IoT company in the Philippines, launches the first public Internet of Things (IoT) nationwide network. True to its goal of building an IoT-powered Philippines, the network roll out will enable easy adoption and on-boarding of IoT solutions in the country.
Packetworx uses LoRaWanTM enabled solutions that provide long range sensors and control capable devices. It allows a wide range of IoT applications which will build smart communities and improve business efficiencies.

Packetworx has three key community projects and initiatives which anyone can participate in: 1) In August 2018, it is opening the first free access IoT Technology Hub in the country. It makes available computers, soldering stations, test equipment, and even pick and place and reflow oven. It will enable IoT enthusiasts to develop devices and applications for free; 2) Packetworx will also provide free device sensors and network connectivity to an initial 60 local government units for disaster-preparedness, air quality monitoring and safety and; 3) It will also offer free IoT hardware kits and free LoRaTM Academy curriculum to an initial 100 schools, all within 2018.
Packetworx partnered with various sectors to fast track the roll out of the network. It is in the process of deploying 250 pilot gateways to cover Metro Manila and other key locations across various industries over the next 60 days. As part of its goal to provide accessible and reliable connectivity for all LoRaWanTM devices across the Philippines, It is scheduled to roll out 2,500 gateways in 2018 to cover key cities and an additional 7,500 gateways in 2019.
